Blood Banks in Hyderabad Face Shortage
Hyderabad's blood banks are experiencing a severe shortage due to a surge in viral infections, leading to increased demand for transfusions.
Blood Donation Camp
Hyderabad is currently experiencing a shortage of blood supplies due to a rise in viral infections, which has led to increased demand for blood transfusions. Blood banks are struggling to maintain adequate stocks, with a significant decline in donations attributed to the surge in illnesses. Authorities are urging citizens to donate blood and are implementing awareness campaigns to encourage community participation in addressing this critical need.
Dr Ameen Rupani emphasised that this is the right time to donate blood as people are riddled with dengue, chikungunya and other major illnesses caused by viruses. He gave out this message during the blood donation drive organised by the Ismaili Civic in collaboration with Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust on the occasion of global Ismaili Civic Day and World Heart Day.
Over 250 people participated in the camp, where Dr Shiva mentioned that blood donation reduces the risk of cancer, cardiovascular diseases and cholesterol.
